Sorry it is taking me forever and a day to post my #booktalk (which I still haven't finished). I have read two books since my last post. I have spotty internet, so I am going to try my best to have them up by the end of the week.
But if you didn't know already it is Banned Book Week. Basically the reading community is shedding light on the crazy notation of censorship in literature. There is no censorship in life so why would you ban reality? I have no idea.
The just banned/challenged (whatever they call it now) The Fault in Our Stars by John Green. Now that is crazy! So sorry people with terminal illnesses, you are not allow to share you story, fiction or otherwise. It is not proper.
If you look at the list of banned books, most of them are required reads for any basic English class (even the Hunger Games was on it, don't even get me started.) They are classics for a reason...sorry that you want to live in a bubble of fakeness. Maybe if more people took the time to read, the world wouldn't be so messed up. I don't know just a thought.
Read whatever you like. There is always something to learn from books, no matter how big or small. Reading is a powerful thing. It should not be feared but celebrated!
Happy Reading

#BookTalk-Perfect Ruin by Lauren DeStefano
The time has come! I finally finished this book! Oh I must say this is book was awesome, never a dull moment!
First Line: We live encapsulated by the trains.
Morgan lives in a Interment, which is a plot of land suspended in the sky. It is their own Utopia. They live happily, and have everything they need. One day a girl ends up dead on the train track, the whole town gets turned upside down. And everyone begins to challenge everything they once believed.
Last Line: She turns to face the strange world beyond the door, and she jumps.
Characters
Morgan. the main character. She is starting to have doubts about her world, and thinks about leaving. Which is something no one ever does. Those people are called irrational and sent away when they have the thoughts Morgan has. She scares to ask herself all these new questions. The perfect place she used to call home, is now not a stable place, and is filled with secrets she is just now discovering.
Pen. Morgan's best friend. She has darkness in her that we don't really get to see in this novel. Pen believes wholeheartedly in Internment and isn't like Morgan.
Basil. Morgan's betrothed. Basil is the best type of person. All kind and truly caring for Morgan. The only person that truly understands and accepts her with all her insane thoughts. If anything happens to him throughout the series I am coming for blood.
Setting
This town/place/city called Interment is basically a huge piece of land suspended in the sky. Due to the limited space they have rules to keep control everything that happens. Ways to keep population countdown and ways to control how long you live. Everything was down to a science even love. It is amazing. Interment always had perfect weather, they have never seen snow! It is truly seems like a fairytale land.
All in All
This novel had great characters, and an awesome plot. Seriously truly enjoyed reading this book. I was 100% emotionally invested in the lives of these characters. They truly made me anxious, that why it took me so long to finish. But it was totally worth the ride. I can't wait to see what happens in the next book. A must read!

Secret Garden
I found an awesome place to read on campus! Next book is Perfect Ruin by Lauren DeStefano. I have read books by her before and I am excited to read this new series! So far I read the first two chapters and I am hooked. I would be finished already if I didn't have class. And when I think I have free time, I always have homework I forgot to do or I don't have my Kindle with me! Like got to make it a habit to carry that thing around!
Well happy reading everyone!!
#BookTalk- Thrist by Claire Farrell
It has been too long. It is funny becasue even though I am in classes and in a different country and have to commute to school on a bus an hour a day. I only find myself reading when I am traveling outside of Thailand or the city of Bangkok. I finally was like enough of that and am starting to read on the bus rides to school. I don't know why I was wasting valuable reading time for sleep...*shaking my head*
Well any way in between reading Perfect Ruin, which is amazing! I am having major anxiety and need to finish it in one sitting. So I put it off until that is possible. So in the mean time, I choose my next read....
First Line: The scent of fear mixed with fresh blood stopped me in my tracks.
A girl, Ava, born half human and half vampire is trying to come to a better understanding of who she is and what her place in the world of the supernatural and humanity. She is caught between her thirst cravings and her determination to not become a monster. It is actually considered a novella, but it is the first of 6 books. (I have a lot of reading ahead of me). It is fast pace, and filled with awesome but kicking action. (I know it is another vampire book...seriously my guilty pleasure).
Last Line: I had no idea what the next day would bring—but at least I was alive.
Characters
Ava. She is so confused about who she is and most importantly what she is. This 25 year old has been living her life in isolation from humans and vampires. Once she confronts that fact that she is not evil but good, and starts to fight for the people she cares about. BAM! She is super bad ass as she embraces both her vampire and human side. She still has a lot to learn but she is an awesome heroine that doesn't take shit from anyone.
Peter. Ava's grandmother gives her Peter's information in order for her to get help for a problem she is having. Peter is a hunter of the supernatural, he hates vampires for this own reasons. Peter also has some skeletons in his closet that he isn't ready to show. Making their Ava and his relationship, rocky at best. Don't forget it starts with him punching Ava in the face. Can anyone say a warm welcome? There is still so much to learn about him.
Plot
Since it was a novella I don't want to say too much it would give it away. But it is a very fast pace read, and Ava's POV really drives the narrative in a way you can relate and grow with her. Everyone has a dark side that they are trying to live with, hers happens to be being a vampire.
All in All
This book was a great read to calm my anxiousness about the other book I am read. It is a simple read that keeps you on edge becasue of the fast moving plot. You don't get to learn too much about the characters or what is truly in store for Ava but it does get the ball rolling. I would be interested in reading more when I get the chance.
