#BookTalk-Sweet Temptation by Wendy Higgins

Sweet Temptation by Wendy Higgins

This is the companion novel to the Sweet Evil series, from the POV of the one and only Kai.

The Duke of Lust's son himself opens his mind to us throughout his journey with Anna Whitt starting from the very beginning. The readers get to see what is happening in the mind of Kai throughout the three books, which is quit a treat.

The 3 things that are different from Anna POV are as follows:

1. Being the Duke of Lust's son, there is always something dirty on his mind. But in all good Kai fun, of course.

2. You get to see more of Kai's feelings about Anna, his father and his life.

3. You get a taste of Kai's song lyrics and Wendy even takes the time to write song epigrams before every chapter...so Kai!

If you loved the Sweet Evil series, get ready to re-enter this awesome world again! The book should be hitting shelves on 9.8.15 !

#BookTalk- Saga by Brian K. Vaughan and Fiona Staples

Saga by Brian K. Vaughan and Fiona Staples

This is a graphic novel. Graphic novels are awesome. People should read more of them.

This is about two characters who are married and the wif
e just gave birth to a child. So beautiful. Okay I am holding out. The husband and wife are from two different places that are currently at war, so now people are trying to hunt and kill them. More exciting. It lends on the Sci-Fi side.

All in All

It is a quick and easy fun read. The art is so interesting as you get drawn into a place that is literally out of this world. My only regret is not getting the second and third ones when I was at B&N.

#BookTalk- Living Dead Girl by Elizabeth Scott

This book is intense and emotional story about captivity. This book gave me chills and made my heartbreak, as I read more and more about Alice's captivity. Alice has been kidnapped by an older man, Jay, to be his lover...at the age of ten. She has been captive now for five year, and she believe now her story will finally come to an end, but things don't go to plan.

Character

Alice. My heart just squeezes tighter and tighter as I read more about her torture. I was rooting for her to runaway, to be saved..anything that would allow her to escape. She is so wounded, and starved that escape seems impossible...is impossible for her.

Plot

The book goes in and out from present to past, as it sets up the past five years. Alice endures great hardship and it is just gut wrenching that anyone would have to go through something so terrible.

All in All

This story carries that voices of many girls in captivity. Alice's voice carries volumes, as she tell a story of harrowing circumstances. This book is not for everyone, it just hits you, and scares you. It shows you how dark humankind can be. I read this book becasue it was only 170 pages, but now I am ready to read something super fun and happy. Somethings that makes me optimistic about humankind.

#BookTalk- You by Caroline Kepnes

You by Caroline Kepnes

This super creepy book will keep you at the edge of your seat, as you dive into the mind of a stalker and his obsession with a girl he loves. I highly recommend this book for those who are interested in walking on the dark side. But this book is not a warm and fuzzy love story, so beware. This stalker love story will keep your skin crawling.

#TheBookFeels

The Book Feels

You know that moment when you are reading and all of your book emotions just hit you. The character's life starts taking so many twists and turns and your heart might explode as it rapidly beats out of your chest. It is really a horrible feeling, and sadly there is no cure (expect for complete apathy).

But you are also not alone.

Here are some gif that share in your heartache.

When the couple you have been rooting for doesn't end up together:

When the main character is at a crossroads and they keep making ill timed choices:
When all your favorite characters keep dying (#GameofThrones):

Books Feels are a very common side effect to a great book. So keep reading my friends!!

#BookTalk- Love Water Memory by Jennie Shortridge

Love Water Memory by Jennie Shortridge

I loved this book! It totally took me by surprise on how awesome it was and here is why it enjoyed it:

Lucie Walker is found standing knee deep in the San Francisco Bay with no memory of how she got there or who she is. After days of searching her fiancé, Grady, finds her and starts the process of Lucie's rediscovery of her identity. The more Lucie learns about her past, and more she realizes the importance of her memories, the good ones and the bad ones.

Characters

Lucie. She questions everything about herself her habits and her preferences. She doesn't know who she is, and it is just so beautifully painful to see her process to rediscovery. I enjoyed following Lucie on her journey, as she starts to live a life worth remembering.

Grady. He is so kind and sweet and really loves Lucie, which makes it even harder for him to see her like this. As he helps Lucie, he also reflects on his past and how it shaped him, for he also longs to be rediscovered.

Helen. Lucie's aunt. She raised Lucie, but have been estranged every since Lucie graduated High School. Due to Lucie's memory lost, Helen tries to recreate a bond with her niece that she lost so many years ago.

All in All

I said this before but I loved this book. It is actually my new favorite. It's reflective quality, just draws you in as you learn more and more about Lucie's past. I highly recommend this book for anyone who enjoy a poignant love story and any who loves books.

Today, I am getting more books to add to my mess of a bookshelf. I desperately need another bookshelf, or to giveaway my books. I will be posting my new awesome books next week, so if you are interested let me know and I shall see what can be done.

Books make people happy. If you aren't reading you are not the happiness you could be.

I am in the business of making people happy.

So please comment on the post when it comes (I will put pictures of the jackets too, because who doesn't like visuals?!)

Happy Reading!!

#BookTalk-Illuminae by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff

Illuminae by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff

I got this book as an ARC at BookCon. This book doesn't come out until October 20, 2015, so make sure you write it down!!

This book is special becasue it is written in a very unique way. You are reading files from an investigation about an attack on a plant lead to the death of thousands of people. The book documents the travels of three space crafts as they try to get the remaining people to safety. This space odyssey focuses on the POVs of Kady and Kady's ex-boyfriend, Ezra. This journey will change them and show them what really matters, becasue in life they are things worth dying for...

Characters

Kady. Love her. She has an adventurous heart, and pink hair! She is a computer hacker, and is really good at it. Her heart is broken after her break up with Ezra, but that one act saved both their lives that morning. Kady is fearless, hopeful and just, as she sees the terrors of their journey unfold. She may not be able to shoot a gun, but don't count her out. She is just as strong or even stronger they any heroine.

Ezra. (does anyone else think of Pretty Little Liars?). He is a jock, and is so lucky he knows a girl like Kady. They are able to lead on each other after things seem to get worse and worse for the pair. Ezra is dangerously in love with Kady, but can never express his love enough to get Kady's forgiveness. Ezra is a sarcastic, and cold hearted most times, cursing up a storm, but with Kady...he crumbles. But will Ezra survive to see Kady again? To make things right between them?

All in All

I loved this book. It was so different becasue of the way it was written, creating a unique reading experience that will keep you wanting more. This book is 599 pages but it goes so fast you won't even realize how long it is. If you are a sci-fi lover, or looking for something different, I highly recommend this book!
