See Me by Wendy Higgins
First Line: Cecelia Mason had never been more frightened.
Once Robyn is out of high school, she has to travel to Ireland to meet her betrothed. Who has been handed pick for her by the Fae, since birth. And on the plane, her mom spills the beans of who exactly she is getting married to.... a leprechaun. Ahh, and now the tale begins. A book filled with heartbreak, and new love that turns into a beautiful love story. Well...until their fates hung in the balance but shh! that is the beauty of it all. This leprechaun love story will grab your wee little heart.
Last Line: I wouldn't trade places with FFG for anything-- nay, not even for all the pots of gold in the world.
Characters
Robyn. Hopeful that even though her marriage was arranged, that she can still find love in her relationship with McKale. She never gives up even if obstacles come in her way. Can they grow to love each other, and truly seeing each other?
McKale. Tries everything to push Robyn away. He doesn't believe she truly likes him. He was always pitied, and didn't really get along with the rest of the Chaun clan. He is not quick to trust people, and worried that Robyn only likes him because of obligation. Will he finally learn to trust her, and make their marriage work?
Rock. McKale's fun loving friends. He is the type that jumps without a parachute. He is a carefree spirit that doesn't want to be tied down. That attitude, even though charming, could get him into a lot of trouble. When he meets Cassidy that can very well change him....just maybe.
Cassidy. Robyn's younger sister and best friend. They would to anything for each other. Cassidy is definitely taking Robyn's marriage the hardest. She doesn't want to be separated from her sister. Cassidy is also a free spirit, an adventure seeker. Her attitude leads her to her own love story and tangled messes.
Plot
I will be actually talking about the end. (Don't worry I won't give everything away). So I just want to start off by saying I love the plot and the story it was beautiful. But the ending was so blahhh, like the whole storyline was going strong, then it just ended. I don't know, I feel like I think things were just a little unfinished. Yes, there was the happily ever after, and there was no real loose ends. I just wished it ended with them leaving and not them about to leave (this will make more sense after reading the book). I don't know...it felt abrupt. It didn't make the book any less good, it just bothered me, is all. But I hope you like how the book ends. It could just be my paranoid. Or the fact I don't read stand-alones for the reason that I get too invested in the character's well being.
All in All
This book wasn't what I expected, and I loved it. It was such a sweet and wonderful love story. I recommended to all who are looking for a little love and magic in their next read.
